Biography

Amanda Ryan formed Adagio Music in 2010 after many years of singing and entertaining professionally.  In fact when Amanda first started in this industry, she mentioned way back in the late 80's her passion to start her own boutique and personalised Music Agency which has now at last become a reality.  Serious work on starting Adagio Music began in 2009, and the interest from friends, family and fellow musicians was most encouraging to make it all happen.

For five years Amanda performed at wedding ceremonies and piano bars around Melbourne including The Windsor, while also performing lead roles in Theatre.  Amanda then embarked on an overseas venture.   During this time she travelled extensively throughout the Caribbean, Europe, America and Asia with a successful top UK Cabaret Show Band 'Images' who had been established for ten years. 

 

After half a decade with Images as lead vocalist, this was a natural progression to her solo career aboard Princess Cruises & Regent Cruises for several more years. 

 

Involvement with the dancers was a regular feature, and the cruise also included her own weekly show which featured songs from many well known musicals from popular music to the amazingly high soaring musical notes of Phantom of the Opera which she manages to interpret as such.   Audience participation was also a very ad-lib focus to her shows.

 

In between the cruising season, Amanda spent the remainder of the year touring around Britain with various cover and cabaret bands.  With modern then classical vocal training (Melba Conservatorium), this has been a solid foundation for the variety of songs she has encountered over the years.  Quite unique, in that she has a vast vocal range and two distinctively different voices!

 

On her return to Australian shores, Amanda was part of a 60's tribute show with two female vocalists and four musicians.  This was extensive experience, particularly with the emphasis on 3 and 4 part harmonies.  This then led Amanda to form her own shows, and now Amanda & The Jets is in full flight!

 

So with this wealth of experience, Adagio Music is operating in and around Melbourne and the dream of more than 20 years ago has now come to life!
